Jah Troopers Sound System Showcase’ is a package grown out the UK based Reggae outfit ‘Jah Troopers Music’, and has become very popular across a wide range of audiences from mainstream to underground. Presented by DJ Hussla-D and Singer/MC Lickle J the showcase features a range of vibrant music genres in a Reggae Sound System style, capturing the audience making them a big part of the whole experience. Whilst the DJ plays the sing-along classics he also incorporates exclusive versions only heard in their sets. The Singer/MC has a bubbly personality and knows how to get the party rocking and in-between hosting interjects, gracing the set with his smooth seasoned sounding vocals, singing classic covers and originals. Jah Troopers Music was founded back in 1998 by a group of youths aged between 12 & 14 who had a great interest in music and nothing else to do. Coming from Caribbean backgrounds reggae music and the sound system culture was second nature and as proven something they all done very well. What started as a hobby soon became the start of a music career. Jah Troopers grown to be the popular demand in their region featuring on majority of the big Reggae events and presenting a weekly Reggae show on their local radio station. Expanding in size they broadened the music genres they specialised in and began working with event brands like Club Sidewinder & Hysteria two of the leading event brands for the UK rave scene at that time. The UK rave music such as Garage & Grime opened opportunities for Jah Troopers Artists like Lickle J who went on to pursuing his solo career as an artist working with UK acts such as Skepta, Wiley, Jammer and many more. DJ Hussla D continued to play Jah Troopers and hosted a range of quality events ranging from DJ/ sound system events to live showcases. To date the team has hosted events with Beenie Man, Sly & Robbie, Chacka Demus & Pliers, Morgan Heritage, Wailing Souls, Fantan Mojah, StoneLove, David Rodigan, Bass Odyssey, Tim Westwood, Sir Coxsone, NDubz, Boy Betta Know, So Solid Crew, Heartless Crew and many more of the top names in the music genres they cover. In recent years the two main acts for Jah Troopers (Hussla D & Lickle J) have collaborated when the brand has been booked for big shows, which created the demand for the ‘Jah Troopers Sound System Showcase’. They offer a great musical experience leaving their audience musically uplifted.
